Yarra Valley Water delivered to residents a Customer newsletter in February 2005.  In this first newsletter it said that survey work is commencing around town conducted by a company named Maunsell Australia Design.  A route investigation has already been undertaken to evaluate a feasible option for servicing the township, and Maunsell has been selected to do the preliminary design stage and investigative work. The brief of Maunsell is to conduct site works such as surveying and ground investigations, and with the preliminary sewer servicing layout they will review and adjust as necessary.

Residents have been sent a preliminary plan of the route of the sewerage pipes and given a large plan to the Committee to show residents at the public meeting.  On the plan is marked the location of septic tanks and residents are asked to confirm or change these locations.

In October 2005 the next newsletter arrived with the final plan and information.  Representatives of Yarra Valley Water have been around surveying our backyards and noting on maps exactly what is in your back yard.  Many of you may have to move or remove objects that have been built over easements.   If  this is the case then we hope that little interruption is caused.

Work started at the back of the football ground, in July 2006.  Construction of a pump station, flow control facility and large sewer mains commenced.   The timeline for construction is to be about 18 months and as well as the pump station, the construction of the local reticulated sewerage system is expected to take the same time and be finished together.

At the AGM in November 2006 representatives from Yarra Valley

Water attended and gave an overview of progress.  They informed the AGM that work was well under way and explained that the hole at the rear of the Football ground was one of four pumping stations that they are building.  The construction of the residential sewer lines will commence in the new year and hopefully will be finished at the same time as the pumping stations.
